Filling a home

Erin and the girls are in Cleveland this weekend, leaving me home alone to arrange the garage, unpack boxes of books, redistribute piles of junk (to be sorted at a a later date), and generally enjoy the quiet house.

Thing is, I don’t like being alone, or away from my family. But we needed this time to get the house in order and ready for the many dinner parties, backyard barbecues and other social gatherings that we’ve wanted to host — one key reason we bought this large house.

Within the next couple of days, I hope to be able to announce the date for the annual BlogTogether Backyard Barbecue (a Saturday in August) as well as the kick-off event for the The Long Table initiative (a Sunday in late September).
