Berry picking returns

From Jean in her strawberry patch comes this much-anticipated news:

I hope your strawberry containers are ready! We will officially open for the season Wednesday from 3PM – 7:30PM with U-Pick berries only. We do not plan to be open Thursday or Friday. We will open again on Saturday from 7:30AM until we are picked over (again, this is for U-Pick only). Please call 362-5800 on Saturday after lunchtime before you come out to ensure we still have berries.

Next week will begin our regular schedule Monday – Saturday with Pre-Pick and U-Pick berries as well as other baked goods. Please pass the word that we are open and hope for sunshine as we begin the 2007 Strawberry Season!

Last year, as you may recall, we made a few batches of strawberry jam. We’ll make double this year, since our jam seems to run out by January.
