For bloggers, there’s a tongue-in-cheek tradition called Friday Cat Blogging—on Fridays, bloggers post pictures of their cats because 1) cats are cute and 2) pictures of cats lighten the mood of serious blogs.

I’ve not been able to cat blog because of a lack of a feline. That changed today with the arrival of Callie, a cute kitten (a male, but Erin and the girls have dubbed him a she nevertheless). Callie slept on my chest while I sat on the sofa with Erin, and that reminded me of my darling cat Pima on Paama Island during my Peace Corps days, a time when a pig and a dog and a cat and two chickens converted me to an animal lover.
