Since Anna was an infant, Erin and I have helped her anticipate the next day’s activities by telling her the plan for the day; Anna has always been eager to hear us formulate these plans. Yesterday, though, in a sign that she’s maturing (she turns 5 on Monday!) Anna announced to us the plan for today’s activities: we’d go to the Carrboro Farmers Market, buy strawberries, return home to make strawberry jam, and then take a family bike ride. So that’s just what we did today, and throughout the activities, Anna kept looking at me and saying, “Dad, those strawberries were delicious.”
