Summer reading at UNC

The UNC Summer Reading Program picks Jhumpa Lahiri’s , an awesome novel.

Finding a book that resonates with incoming students is the enjoyable challenge faced by the Carolina Summer Reading Program book selection committee each year. With input from a broad spectrum of Carolina students, faculty and staff, we have chosen “The Namesake,” a novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jhumpa Lahiri, for the 2006 Summer Reading Program.

My observations of the book are here.
