It might be that the Great Spirit wants us to be talking about this, or it could be that it’s just a natural selection for a topic of conversation, but evolution and intelligent design are in the media this week: Kansas Schools Struggle with Evolution and Intelligent Design on NPR, and Design for Living in the NYTimes. The Times piece is by a scientists who says he’s one of the creators of the intelligent design theory. He says that Mount Rushmore is a good example of something we can intuitively look at and understand something intelligent had a hand in the design of the mountainside monument. I don’t buy his logic – the human intelligence that carved the stone(d) presidents is part of evolution. Is he suggesting life itself has become the Creator? What do you think? What do you believe?
