Kerry in Cleveland, on his way to 1600

Nov 1, 2004

Am watching C-SPAN right now as a large crowd gathered at Cleveland City Hall awaits John Kerry. So wish I could be there for the celebration tonight, and there tomorrow to cast a vote. (Timing is everything: I’d always wanted to vote out Jesse Helms, but he retired once I moved to North Carolina; now with Ohio supposedly a swing state, I wish my vote could be cast in Cleveland. By my Kerry vote here now will help, I’m sure.) From Working With Words I see that my friend John Ettorre has resurfaced just in time to be at the Cleveland rally.

One other Cleveland tie today with NPR’s story about a California couple who sent letters to people with last names beginning with Z. Missed out on that by 3 years as well.
