While Erin cooked dinner yesterday evening, the girls and I took a walk in our neighborhood. Anna chased a cat, Malia chewed on the backpack strap, and I looked for landscaping tips from the neighbors. One roadside mailbox was in the shape of a giant large mouth bass, with a sticker promoting a bass anglers association. Another mailbox provided shade for very large bee that was making a deep vibration. At work today, I happened to come across a web page about that bee, the giant resin bee.
I’ve been wanting to buy a field guide to the bugs of North Carolina. Birds, too, now tha we have a birdfeeder out back. First, I’ll read this NYTimes essay, So Many Field Guides You Need a Guide.
