Justin Zuiker is doing a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Kansas City, and he and his housemates were featured in the Kansas City Star yesterday. Here’s an excerpt:

Justin Zuiker said he’s gaining the knowledge he “didn’t get growing up in a white middle-class neighborhood.” He’s working at Community LINC, a non-profit that helps people find homes and get back on their feet. “I used to think people on welfare just wanted to get rich,” he said. “Now I know not only that you can’t get rich on welfare, but I help women find jobs. They want jobs. I’ve been exposed, and now my views are more complete.”
