Read me

Apr 9, 2004

Finally got around to watching the documentary Stone Reader, about a filmmaker’s search for a one-and-gone author from the 1970s who had written an acclaimed book titled The Stones of Summer. See this film – it took me back to wonderful days in the libraries of Caldwell, Idaho, and Frederiksted, St. Croix, to hours upon hours I spent reading Tolkien and Heyerdahl and L’Amour and Clavell and Garcia Marquez and Hesse and Theroux and Conan Doyle and …

The point is, reading is damn enjoyable. I was up until 3 a.m. the other night finishing Oracle Night, and a few days before that I was reading Chasing the Monsoon. Tomorrow, I start Half a Life.

What are you reading? What’s a book we should be reading?
