QE2

Nov 5, 2003

On a holiday break during college, I visited my father on St. Thomas in the USVI. One day he and I and Chris helped my dad’s buddy clean the keel of his boat, and so the captain took us for a sail. As we passed the beautiful Charlotte Amalie harbor, we happened to sail near the Queen Elizabeth II cruise ship, which had just dropped its anchor and had happy tourists lining the decks. It just so happened that that was the precise moment I lost my lunch over the stern of the sailboat. Oh, the ignominy. Anyway, the QE2 is about to embark on its final voyage. Hear a story and see pictures at NPR:The QE2’s Bon Voyage.
