Dennis Hastert, the speaker of the House of Representatives, happens to represent the Illinois district that includes DeKalb, my hometown. I never met the man, nor do I remember ever seeing him at a pancake breakfast – and Grandpa Sisco dragged me to countless of those – but he certainly fills the speaker’s seat now.
