Thinner with age

My Lonely Planet guide to Vanuatu arrived today. It’s the fourth edition, with 176 pages of information about the fantastic South Pacific nation. But, the second edition, the one that got us through two years of Peace Corps service and travel among the islands, was 300 pages. I know that cyclones and volcanoes and earthquakes have tried their best to shake loose the hills and valleys of the islands, but I wasn’t aware that there was less to see and do in Vanuatu. Must be the global economic doldrums at work.
