I’ve been trying to rid my speech of excessive use of the verb ‘to go’ but it’s quite difficult. Have you noticed that we use ‘going’ so much in our language: “I’m going to have to finish my story now” or “Anna, let’s go get our swimsuits on so we can go to the pool” rather than “I have to finish my story now” and “Anna, let’s swim.” Heck, read the newspaper today and you’ll see quite a lot of quotes with ‘going.’ So, I’m going to stop using ‘to go.’
