Overheard at the park

After the rain cleared today, the community park was crawling with kids. One six-year-old girl, with one of her twin sisters in tow amid the rose garden paths, told Erin her sister “was tough. She should go to war.” Out of the mouths of babes, sadly. I hope her parents are teaching her that it takes toughness to talk peace, to negotiate, to find creative solutions that don’t entail bombardment and killing. And while we’re on the subject, somebody please tell the President to wipe that insulting smirk off his face.
