Twinkie time

OK, time for me to ‘fess up. Last fall, I watched a late-night episode of Follow That Food on the Food Network. This episode followed the making of a Hostess Twinkie. Now, in high school I ate my share and more of Hostess products, and my dad early on taught me a love of Hostess chocolate cupcakes, but I swore off those cakes and doughnuts many years ago. For months the Food Network twinkie special nagged me, and so finally last month, while shopping for groceries, I grabbed a box of the yellow cakes filled with white goo. Oh, how I wish I hadn’t. I’ve eaten half a dozen of them over the last 2 weeks. Ughh. They make me sick. I’m going back to bars of dark chocolate.
