Readings One of the best articles I’ve read in months, maybe in the last 2 years, is an article about a woman who sells pianos. James B. Stewart’s article, Matchmaker, in the Aug 20 & 27 New Yorker, is an easy read, a melodic and flowing read, a melifluous collection of words that tells about Erica Feidner’s musical upbringing and her work as a salesperson in New York’s Steinway Hall. Quick, check that piano in your living room. If it’s a Steinway, you’ve got a work of art collecting dust. Read this article and you’ll be clearing the cobwebs from the keys and tapping out a tune within a minute of finishing the final, tearful paragraph.
