U2.com—I’m off to see my favorite band in a few hours. Have you heard U2’s latest album, All That You Can’t Leave Behind? Great music. And I get to hear it live tonight. This will be my first U2 concert. I remember when my fandom started—summer of 1987. I’d finish work at University Apartments in DeKalb, and then drive down Annie Glidden road a bit, to a soccer field on the campus of Northern Illinois University. I’d sit in my 1973 Pontiac Catalina and listen to U2’s Joshua Tree album on my Aiwa walkman, and then when the rest of the soccer team showed up, play soccer for hours in the hot evening.
