Diagnosis for this blog

Ever since my medical journalism studies and my thesis about medical detectivework, I’ve been wanting to find a way to do in this blog what Lisa Sanders does in her NYTimes Magazine column, Diagnosis. So, in the next few weeks, I’m going to contact the doctors I know in this area to see if I can get a few medical stories to tell.

If you’re a North Carolina doctor or a patient with an interesting medical story, please contact me.

1. Anton, have you heard about the great new book, The Family Who Couldn’t Sleep? It is an excellent medical mystery about prion diseases. I highly recommend it.

2. Mary, I have heard about that book, and I blogged about the original article by that author. It appeared in the NYTimes Magazine, and featured a scientist at Case Wester Reserve University who is an expert in prions.
