I called my dad from the airport observation deck on Saturday. While the girls ran around watching the planes land, I checked in with dad to tell him I was proud of him for running for Congress, and that I distinctly remember him taking me to the end of the Phoenix airport runway to watch the jets flying overhead.
My father is an amazing man, and I respect him. He didn’t win the election to represent Hawaii in Washington, but to me he represents import lessons of family values. Thank you for a good run, dad.

I’m glad he ran and, obviously, so did more than a few folks.
Even in a large field, just from seeing how he went about running, I bet he influenced the race.
Now, the hard part. Does he stick with it and keep slugging it out? Two years can go by awfully quickly.
