Groovin with Youssou

Just back from an awesome concert by Youssou N’Dour with Fathy Salama’s Cairo Orchestra at UNC’s Memorial Hall.

Earlier, I stopped over to see my former colleagues at NC State, and then chatted about blogs and podcasts withJohn Conway of WRAL.com. John’s boss, Jimmy Goodmon, pledged a good chunk of money to the bloggers bash I’m planning for November 15th. Yesterday, the director of WUNC agreed to host a reception in the station’s new studios. More on the bash tomorrow.
