Crime stopping presses

Dec 30, 2005

Erin and I and the girls left Cleveland just after lunch yesterday, headed south, stopped at Charleston Town Center Mall for dinner (and a few gift exchanges), and drove through the night, arriving at our darling little home in Durham at 1:30 a.m.

It’s good to be back. The house was untouched, and we breathed a sign of relief.

News & Observer reporter Stanley B. Chambers, Jr.. stopped by today to interview us about the rash of robberies in the area (use the DPD crime mapper to check on the latest activity). After he was done talking to us, he went next door to talk to a neighbor whose house had also been robbed … and that neighbor soon was over to tell us the police had just called to say they’d nabbed someone in the nearby apartments with a room full of stolen goods.

(When I told Stan that our robbery happened the day of the Triangle Bloggers Bash, he told me he blogs at Ramblings, Rants and Roaches.)

UPDATE: See Stanley’s article here.
