I received my REI.com member rewards packet this week, but have only just opened it to find that my dividend for this year is under $10. But I also learn that a new REI store will open nearby later this year. This store, to be in the new Renaissance Center at Southpoint, will be a welcome draw. The first part of the Southpoint shopping complex is a megamall with a multiplex, stadium seating and all. I’m hoping the new REI has an in-store climbing wall, though I can’t claim to ever having climbed the wall here at UNC. My climbing shoes have been in a corner of my closet for years.
