Joel’s been on the set of Quecreek, the Disney film about the miners who were so dramatically rescued late this summer; Joel is an extra, cast as a family member, so when the movie airs (maybe as early as this Thanksgiving) watch closely for a tall, expressive Joel cheering for his rescued brother or uncle or whoever. Joel is also rehearsing Sherwood, a community play about Robin Hood; Joel sings the opening song, but he won’t have to wear tights. That production will run in Bellwood, PA, later this fall.

Joel studied theater at Millikin University, and performed at DeKalb High School, where he and I were on stage together in To Kill A Mockingbird and Li’l Abner. Joel’s always been passionate about acting, and it’s good to see him realizing his avocation. Break a leg, Joel.
